SUPREME COURT WILL HEAR THE PANAMAGATE ON DAILY BASIS
The supreme court of Pakistan decided to hold hearings on the Panamagate scandal on daily basis without any further delay. The top court continued the session on Wednesday and newly establishes five-judge bench resumed the hearings. The new bench is headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and the other four members are Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh, and Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan.
The judges elevated some serious questions about the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif family’s property in London. All the judges raised the point about the source from which they purchased the property during 90’s. The Pakistan Tehreek Insaf PTI counsel Naeem Bokhari was very clear about the fact that the PM Nawaz Sharif had misguided the authorities during his speech in the National Assembly regarding the income and assets of his family following the Panama case. The SC also ordered Naeem Bokhari to bring the evidence about his claim that Hussain Nawaz PM Nawaz Sharif’s son is the owner of various offshore companies purchased before 2006. Naeem also said that the Park Lane flats in London were bought for 75 thousand pounds in 1995. The PTI counsel also blamed the Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif of his transitions outside the Pakistan. He was very keen to add the Shahbaz sharif’s financial mishaps in this case so that the court also gets the things right on track in the Panama scandal.
After the hearing, the PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary showed prodigious satisfaction over the today’s session and indicated that this is a moral victory for them that Supreme Court is hearing this mega scandal issue on daily basis. The PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmoud Qureshi showed some concerns over the change of legal team by the family of Nawaz Sharif. He alleged that it is a time wasting tactic because the new team will surely take extra time to address all the documents and proceedings completely. To be honest, the urgency of the top court is a great sign for both the parties because both wanted to show the truth to the nation as soon as possible.
The Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that Imran khan always states falsehood and never proved his allegations in front of honorable judges. She also said that Imran needs to stop the blame game now and think for the betterment of the country. In the past, the Information minister also used some harsh words against the PTI chairman and she also said that Khan’s whole politics is based on lies.
The matter of the fact is that SC is doing its job and for both the parties the war of words should be stopped now. The Top court should restrict both parties to not hold press conferences or media talks outside the court unless until the case is decided. These are one of the main reasons to ex polite institutions’ perception among common people.
