The only Cricket Tournament that Pakistan has never Won
Pakistan Cricket has always given gems to the World Cricket. Pakistan has always produced world class cricketers in every format of the game. Pakistan has won almost every trophy whether it is in tests, ODIs or T20. Pakistani’s were the 1992 World Cup champions in the 50 over game. In 2009 Pakistan has comprehensively beaten Sri Lanka at Lords Cricket stadium to lift the T20 World cup trophy. The only Cricket trophy which Pakistan has failed to lift up till now is Champions trophy. Pakistan has never won any Champions Trophy Cricket tournament. It is the second biggest tournament after World cup in Cricket. The ICC Full Members top eight teams according to the ICC rankings can take part in this tournament

ICC has Full Members, Associate Members and Affiliate Members. If we talk about Asia there are 21 members of ICC in this region. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the ICC Full Member countries in this part of the region. If we talk about Europe there are 33 members of ICC in this region. England is the only ICC Full Member country in this part of the region. While in Africa there are 22 members of ICC in this region. South Africa and Zimbabwe are the ICC Full Member countries in this part of the region. While in East Asia-Pacific part of the world there are 11 ICC member countries in total, Australia and New Zealand being the ICC Full Member countries in this part of the region. . If we talk about Americas there are 17 members of ICC in this region. West Indies is the only ICC Full Member country in this part of the region.
ICC Champions Trophy:
ICC Champions Trophy is considered as the second biggest tournament in the Cricket World after the Cricket World Cup. ICC Champions Trophy took place after almost every two years; Only ICC full members take place in this champion’s trophy tournament. The first eight teams according to the ICC rankings can take part in this tournament. ICC Champions trophy was first given the name ICC Knockout Tournament; later in 2002 it was named as ICC Champions Trophy. Australia and India are the most successful teams in this ICC Champions Trophy, these both countries have lifted this trophy two times each. Unfortunately, Pakistan has never become the winner of ICC Champion trophy.
History of ICC Champions Trophy:
This tournament was first played in Bangladesh in 1998. In this first tournament South Africa emerged as the champion beating West Indies by 4 wickets. The second time this tournament was played in Kenya in 2000. In the second tournament New Zealand lifted the Champions trophy by beating India in the final. In 2002 Sri Lanka hosted the Champions Trophy. In the third edition of this ICC Champion Trophy both India and Sri Lanka were declared as the combine Champions of this tournament. In 2004, England was the host of ICC Champions Trophy tournament. In this edition of ICC Champions Trophy tournament West Indies beat England, which were the host this time by 2 wickets and registered themselves as the Champions of this ICC Champions Trophy tournament. The fifth edition of this ICC Champion Trophy took place in India in 2006. Australia won this edition of tournament by D/L method beating West Indies by 8 wickets. In 2009, South Africa were the host of this ICC Champion trophy tournament. In this sixth edition of ICC Champion Trophy Australia became the champions of this tournament by beating New Zealand. The seventh edition of this tournament took place in England & Wales in 2013 in which India was declared as winning side by beating the host side. The eighth edition of this ICC Champions Trophy will be held in England & Wales this year in June. In this edition we will are hopeful that Pakistan will going to do well and win this trophy.
